JUGS #63

 Good Morning Ladies!

Two weeks til' Christmas and I am no where ready for it!  Oh well that seems to be how it is every year but some how I manage to pull it off!  LOL!
This week over at Just Us Girls our hostest is Maria and she has challenged us to the above Stained glass technique.  I have to say that I found this one challenging.  I hope you like it and don't forget to check out the rest of the teams blogs and our December guest designer Elise Durenberger for more inspiration!
I used Graphic 45 papers and over layed the whole front of my card (along with my sparkling swirls) with my clear cardstock.

Just Us Girls Sketch Challenge #62

Hello ladies!

Here we are the first week of December already!  I'm in full swing making Christmas cards and decorating the inside and outside of my home for the Christmas/Winter season!  I like to use a lot of snowmen because I can leave them out well into the new year.  They have a dual role they work well for Christmas and  the winter season.  Also I don't have to decorate twice or take them down right after the holiday!  Let's face it who has time???  Definitely not me.  LOL!!!

Today is also my youngest sons 14th Birthday!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUSTIN!!!  It seems like I just brought him home from the hospital.  He's already a few inches taller then me (5'8") crap!  No more baby is he!  I'm the tiny one  in the family now surrounded by all these giant boys of mine!  The only good thing is when I'm with them I feel very petite (I'm not but I like feeling that way)!  LOL!!!
This week over at the Just Us Girls challenge blog it  is a sketch challenge that Alicia has come up with.  I followed the sketch except in place of the banner  I used holly leaves and berries. I used some glitter paper I had purchased at my local craft shop.  It looks fabulous with the Graphic 45 papers.  The camera just doesn't do it justice!   With the new month upon us that means it's time for our new featured designer to join us and it is the very talented Elise Durenberger (Mamacow).  You must check out her blog she is very talented and a real hoot!  Also don't forget to check out the rest of the  JUGS teams projects for more inspiration!

Supplies; Graphic 45 (Christmas past collection), Penny Black (script of gold foil), Red card stock misc.,PTI-Vintage cream card stock, Craft n Craftin'-gold sparkle paper, Sentiment-PTI (holiday button bits) ,Stampin' Up-oval and scallop punch, Spellbinders- circle and scallop circle dies, holly leaves and  brads misc.

'Tis the Season - Jugs 3-D challenge

Good Saturday Morning!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving with their loved ones.  Now some of the radio stations have started playing Christmas music to be heard from NOW until Christmas.  To me it's a constant reminder that  I'll never get done everything in time for the big day!  LOL!  Some how though it all manages to come together in the nick if time for most of us cuz I know I'm not alone in that feeling!
This week our hostest with the mostest is Kristen and are  challenge is add a 3-D holiday embellishment to our card or project.  I chose to make my wreath the 3-D focal point of my card.  Seeing that's what I spent my day doing (making wreathes and boughs).  I had sooo much fun doing it and once I had a little liquid inspiration...let's just say I became even more creative!!!  LOL!!!  Every ones came out so nice and different. I can't wait to do it again next year. LOL!  All the greens came from my Dads land so we had piles and piles off stuff under tarps outside the basement and when it got low we'd just haul another pile in.  I've put a picture of mine at the end of the post.

For my card I cut a ring and then just added the little boughs I punched out with my Martha Stewart punch.  I colored a few tiny white pearls with my red Copic marker to add to my wreath along with some silver ribbon from PTI for my bow.  My sentiment is the new PTI Big Bold Holiday Wishes.  I added pop-ups for dimension underneath my wreath and there you have it!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the other JUGS gals blogs for even more inspiration!

Just Us Girls #60 - Color challenge

 Hello Ladies!
This week our color challenge is being hosted by Lisa and she has chosen this fun color palette.  The photo prompted me to use this stamp set from MTME called Argyle Amazement.  Even though Thanksgiving is next week I didn't want to make a Thanksgiving card and these colors did not scream Thanksgiving!  Which made me very happy! I put clear stickles in the center of each flower (looks better in person) to jazz it up a little.  I popped up the sentiment and the frame with pop-ups and stamped the frame using Very Vintage Labels no. 5 from Waltzingmouse which works perfectly with the spellbinder dies.  Please stop by the JUGS blog for more inspiration from the rest of the girls along with our November guest designer Cheryl Rowley.

JUGS #59 Technique/Gatefold card

Good Morning,
It's going to be a beautiful day hopefully in the 60's.  I'm heading to Portland to get supplies for wreath making the day after Thanksgiving.  We need to choose a theme for our wreath and  I have no idea what mine is gonna be till I see it!  LOL!  Seeing it's gonna be Soooo nice I'm going to take one last walk along the beach too!  Doesn't take much to make this girl happy!  LOL!  I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!  ;o)

Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Just Us Girls.  I'm hosting this week and thought it would be fun to make a gate fold card.  I hope you can play along with us this week!  I used some MTME digi paper for my card along with this cute little image from The Greeting Farm that I colored in with my Copic markers.

JustRite 12 Weeks of Christmas Blog Hop 9

Good Morning!
Welcome to the 9th week of JustRite Stampers' blog Hops!  Every Wednesday up until Thanksgiving some of your favorite designers will be joining some of the JustRite design team for a series of Christmas blog hops, showcasing JustRite's entire Christmas Collection of stamps!  Don't forget that JustRite has some Christmas stamps in thier newly released CLING line of stamp sets, too--you can find them HERE.  this week, the designers joining the JustRite design team is the Just Us Girls (JUGS) challenge blog design team!
For the month of November, we thought we would switch gears a little and throw in some holiday gift ideas using your JustRite stamps, so be watching for those, too, on November hops!  And in celebration of JustRite's 9th and 10th week of Christmas Blog Hops, they have a huge surprise for you--Take 25% off All JustRite Original Christmas Stamps now through November 15th with free shipping within the U.S.--  Don't forget to tell Santa!

For my first card I used this set from the Christmas Nested Frames & Occasions set.  I just added some lace for the border around it and layered it atop this plaid paper with pop-ups with some greens I had picked from the woods nearby (along with a few paper flowers and brads).  To preserve them I put them in some polyurethane.  I had just picked up some multi medium gloss from Claudine Helmuth but did not have a chance to give that a go yet.  I have a pile of other branches and leaves that I'm gonna try and preserve for future cards.  I like using natural stuff it gives the card a unique feel to it.

For my second card I used the square stamps From Our House Set.  These along with the above set go with the new clear blocks which I like so much better in that placement of the image is easier!  I cut out the different layers with my Spellbinder square nestabilities and added pop-ups for dimension.  To make my sentiment I used the Times New Roman 25 point letters.  This was the first time I've ever used these and WOW! Do I love them!  I can add any sentiment I choose and it lines up perfectly wherever I choose to put it!  Especially in those tight little spaces.

Please visit these designers' blogs to see what fabulous  JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you on the hop today!

Snow Lady

Hello!
Well it's that time of year again to start getting a jump start on making my holiday cards!  Who am I kidding
I never get ahead no matter how much time I have!  LOL!  Anyway... I just got some new paper packs from Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey yesterday and I couldn't wait to use them.  This one called Mitten Weather is from Cosmo Cricket and was perfect to use for the challenge over at Aly's Sunday Sketch challenge.  The challenge is to distress so I ruffed up the edges on my little snow lady image from the Bunny Blessing set from wink*wink*ink and then inked up those edges for a rustic look.  The small patterns in this pack were also good for paper piecing my little snow lady together (one of my favorite things to do).  She is available along with the sentiment in the Bunny Blessing pack from wink*wink*ink.

Happy Halloween!!!

Good Morning!

Welcome to the Wild card challenge over at Just Us Girls!  This week it's being being hosted by the fabulous Dana who has come up with this fun burnt edge flower technique!   If you've never tried it there is a tutorial that can be found here. This was my first attempt at this technique and I must say the possibilties could be endless just using up scraps of material lying around that contain sythetic fibers.  My problem was I had just "fall cleaned" my closet two weekends ago and got rid of every piece of clothing that I could have used!  Sooooo I went to Wally World and purchased a small amount of material (.92 cents worth).  Big spender I am!  LOL!!!  Instead of using her template for the flower she had I used my Spellbinders  nestabilities (blossom) to cut my material out which was done lickity split!  Seeing I was really busy this week cuz I had to take Friday off for a little oral surgery (fun it's not but with the help of good drugs i'm feeling real good ;0).  I was pressed for time and they do work great just run the material thru a few times to get a good cut!  As for the tea light do be careful so as not to burn the house down!  LOL!  My flower was flaming a few times but I quickly learned to not put it directly into the flame!  LOL!  I hope you ladies decide to give this a try!  This is our last week with our October guest designer Selma.  She has turned out some beautiful projects for JUGS this month!!!   Stop by her blog and the rest of the teams blogs for more inspiration!  Have yourselves a fabulously fun Halloween!!!

Supplies: PTI-white,black cardstock, Recollections-Halloween cardstock, material-misc., Seniment and fence-All That Scraps, MS-web and grass punch, SU-oval and scallop punch.

Peace on Earth...

Hello!
Here is another fun image available from wink*wink*ink.  It's the silhouette of the kitty and mouse that is available in a set of two digi  images and two sentiments that can be found here.  I made a card a couple of weeks ago using the precolored image of these two critters perched in front of a Christmas tree.  I just love this silhouette and it goes perfect with the sentiment that comes with this same image. It makes for a quick and easy card!

Supplies;  PTI cardstock, Martha Stewart punch, misc. brads

Season's Tweetings

Hello!
Here is a little card I made using the new digi stamp set Season's Tweetings that is available from wink*wink*ink .  I colored the little snow man in with my copics to match the papers I had chosen to make this little square card.  This set comes with a cute little border of birdies and some adorable sentiments for the inside or outside of your cards.  The digi images are awesome to work with because you can size them to fit any where on the card or to fit any type of tag you'd like to add to your projects.

JUGS Color Challenge #55

Good Saturday Morning Ladies!

It's time for another challenge over at Just Us Girls and this week it is a color challenge being  hosted by Alicia.  She has chosen a neutral color palette for us to work with this week.  I love graphic 45 papers and how they already have such fun images that I enjoy cutting out and making cards with.  This is one that i had already cut out and just hadn't put together yet.  I decided to make my card a little odd shaped cuz every card doesn't have to fit into an envelope. Am I right Ladies????  I like attaching them to the outside of gifts and gift bags as a little eye candy! LOL!!!  Now that my summer has officially come to a close this weekend in Maine I am feeling a definite return of my mojo!  Yippee!  Below is the card I created for this fun color challenge. I hope you gals find the time to play along with JUGS this week!  Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

JUGS 51 Color Challenge

Hello Ladies!

It's Saturday again and over at Just Us Girls this week its a color challenge for ya'll to try hosted by me!  I went with red, green, black and a neutral (white, cream or kraft).  I'm not ready to give into fall colors just yet!  LOL!!!  My card did not look like this in the beginning it was totally different but I didn't like the way it turned out so this is what I came up with instead. I spent hours on the first one and literally 10 minutes on this one which I like sooo much better!  I ended up cutting the sides off of a Spellbinders Nestabilities labels ten and then adding three flowers to it. Ripped some paper and there it was!  Don't forget to swing by the JUGS challenge blog and check out the rest of the teams creations along with our September guest designer Lynn Mangan.

Welcome to Just Us Girls template challenge being hosted this week by the fabulous Maria!!  She has arranged to have Clear & Simple stamps be our sponsor for this weeks challenge!  We were given the "Spooky treats" stamp set to use on our projects this week and we also  had to choose one of their free templates (can be found here) to create our projects this week .  I hope you decide to play along with us this week.  You can use any template you like but there are some really nice free ones that can be found with the link above.  While there check out all the great ideas their design team has put together with some of their other stamps sets that are available!!

Critter Sketch Challenge #28

Good Monday Morning!!!

This weeks Critter Sketch challenge is being brought to us by our fellow critter Moira.  She would like us to use the colour red and striped patterned paper somewhere on our creations. She'd love to see something summer related. If you create a scrapbook page it can be of a trip from this summer or summer's past or an activity that is generally summer related (swimming, camping, etc.) If you create a card or another project it could contain suns, bright colors, etc. The sky is the limit but remember colour red, stripped patterned paper, and summery!!!

Here's what I came up with for my card.

I used my Graphic 45 papers from the On the Boardwalk Collection along with Kraft and Black cardstock from PTI for my card.  The sentiment is also from PTI-A Day at the Beach.  I'm really happy the way this turned out!  Don't forget to check out the rest of the teams creations for a little more inspiration!  Have a good one!!!

JUGS #47 Color Challenge

Good Morning!

This weeks Just Us Girls challenge is being hosted by Lisa and she has come up with some really fun summer colors for us to play  with this week!  I hope you will join us for this weeks color challenge!

It inspired me to create this fun card that expresses how I feel about summer in a nut shell!

I hate that summer is coming to end shortly.  It means an end to my carefree days walking, talking and just hanging out with the bestest summer friends ever...sigh...  My friends husband says it best about my best friend and I he says, ''you two are sick everything you do (eat, sleep, breath, exercise)  is for two months out of the year!!!!"  YEP!!!  So... I am grateful for summer and will carry it with me for the next ten months as I do every year!!!  LOL!!!

Supplies;  PTI-cardstock-White and Hawaiin Shores,  A Day at the Beach stamp set, Prima-floral embellishments, CTMH mini brads, 1 1/2, 1 1/4 inch square punch, pop-ups, Copic marker R85

Check out the rest of the design teams creations along with our August guest designer Jo Westfoot for even more inspiration!

Wild Wild West!!!

Howdy Partners!
At Just Us Girls this week we're going with a THEME instead of the usual technique challenge. One of our DT members, Alicia, is organizing a charity rodeo in memory of her son, Ethan. All proceeds will go for neuroblastoma research.  The JUGS decided that in support of Alicia and her efforts with the rodeo we'd create cards with a WILD WILD WEST theme! So y'all can get busy creating a wild west card of some sort!   Good luck with the rodeo Alicia!!!

There is blog candy to one lucky randomely drawn person from a very special person so for all the deets head on over to the JUGS blog.  There are links to digi images available on the JUGS sight also!

Here is my card using an image from the Greeting Farm.

We also couldn't forget to give a shout out to our fellow design team member Pam who is celebrating a Birthday on Monday!  Stop by her blog and give her a little love!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PAM!!!
