'Tis the Season - Jugs 3-D challenge

Good Saturday Morning!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving with their loved ones.  Now some of the radio stations have started playing Christmas music to be heard from NOW until Christmas.  To me it's a constant reminder that  I'll never get done everything in time for the big day!  LOL!  Some how though it all manages to come together in the nick if time for most of us cuz I know I'm not alone in that feeling!
This week our hostest with the mostest is Kristen and are  challenge is add a 3-D holiday embellishment to our card or project.  I chose to make my wreath the 3-D focal point of my card.  Seeing that's what I spent my day doing (making wreathes and boughs).  I had sooo much fun doing it and once I had a little liquid inspiration...let's just say I became even more creative!!!  LOL!!!  Every ones came out so nice and different. I can't wait to do it again next year. LOL!  All the greens came from my Dads land so we had piles and piles off stuff under tarps outside the basement and when it got low we'd just haul another pile in.  I've put a picture of mine at the end of the post.

For my card I cut a ring and then just added the little boughs I punched out with my Martha Stewart punch.  I colored a few tiny white pearls with my red Copic marker to add to my wreath along with some silver ribbon from PTI for my bow.  My sentiment is the new PTI Big Bold Holiday Wishes.  I added pop-ups for dimension underneath my wreath and there you have it!  Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the other JUGS gals blogs for even more inspiration!

Just Us Girls #60 - Color challenge

 Hello Ladies!
This week our color challenge is being hosted by Lisa and she has chosen this fun color palette.  The photo prompted me to use this stamp set from MTME called Argyle Amazement.  Even though Thanksgiving is next week I didn't want to make a Thanksgiving card and these colors did not scream Thanksgiving!  Which made me very happy! I put clear stickles in the center of each flower (looks better in person) to jazz it up a little.  I popped up the sentiment and the frame with pop-ups and stamped the frame using Very Vintage Labels no. 5 from Waltzingmouse which works perfectly with the spellbinder dies.  Please stop by the JUGS blog for more inspiration from the rest of the girls along with our November guest designer Cheryl Rowley.

JUGS #59 Technique/Gatefold card

Good Morning,
It's going to be a beautiful day hopefully in the 60's.  I'm heading to Portland to get supplies for wreath making the day after Thanksgiving.  We need to choose a theme for our wreath and  I have no idea what mine is gonna be till I see it!  LOL!  Seeing it's gonna be Soooo nice I'm going to take one last walk along the beach too!  Doesn't take much to make this girl happy!  LOL!  I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!  ;o)

Here is my card for this weeks challenge at Just Us Girls.  I'm hosting this week and thought it would be fun to make a gate fold card.  I hope you can play along with us this week!  I used some MTME digi paper for my card along with this cute little image from The Greeting Farm that I colored in with my Copic markers.

For the month of November, we thought we would switch gears a little and throw in some holiday gift ideas using your JustRite stamps, so be watching for those, too, on November hops!  And in celebration of JustRite's 9th and 10th week of Christmas Blog Hops, they have a huge surprise for you--Take 25% off All JustRite Original Christmas Stamps now through November 15th with free shipping within the U.S.--  Don't forget to tell Santa!

For my first card I used this set from the Christmas Nested Frames & Occasions set.  I just added some lace for the border around it and layered it atop this plaid paper with pop-ups with some greens I had picked from the woods nearby (along with a few paper flowers and brads).  To preserve them I put them in some polyurethane.  I had just picked up some multi medium gloss from Claudine Helmuth but did not have a chance to give that a go yet.  I have a pile of other branches and leaves that I'm gonna try and preserve for future cards.  I like using natural stuff it gives the card a unique feel to it.

For my second card I used the square stamps From Our House Set.  These along with the above set go with the new clear blocks which I like so much better in that placement of the image is easier!  I cut out the different layers with my Spellbinder square nestabilities and added pop-ups for dimension.  To make my sentiment I used the Times New Roman 25 point letters.  This was the first time I've ever used these and WOW! Do I love them!  I can add any sentiment I choose and it lines up perfectly wherever I choose to put it!  Especially in those tight little spaces.

Please visit these designers' blogs to see what fabulous  JustRite Christmas inspiration they have for you on the hop today!

Snow Lady

Hello!
Well it's that time of year again to start getting a jump start on making my holiday cards!  Who am I kidding
I never get ahead no matter how much time I have!  LOL!  Anyway... I just got some new paper packs from Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey yesterday and I couldn't wait to use them.  This one called Mitten Weather is from Cosmo Cricket and was perfect to use for the challenge over at Aly's Sunday Sketch challenge.  The challenge is to distress so I ruffed up the edges on my little snow lady image from the Bunny Blessing set from wink*wink*ink and then inked up those edges for a rustic look.  The small patterns in this pack were also good for paper piecing my little snow lady together (one of my favorite things to do).  She is available along with the sentiment in the Bunny Blessing pack from wink*wink*ink.
