Just Us Girls #82

Good Morning Ladies!
Just Us Girls has an all new challenge being hosted by the very talented Andrea this week.  She is challenging us to use the Emboss Resist technique.  This is one technique that I absolutely love
using this technique and you can find a tutorial here from Splitcoast Stampers.

There are just all sorts of looks you can achieve with this technique by using different distress inks which blend together so perfectly!  On my card I started off by embossing my tree with Shabby Shutters distress ink from Tim Holtz with a clear embossing powder.  I then used my distress mat and tool to shade the bottom half with Shabby Shutters then moved on to Spun Sugar ending with Tumbled Glass for the sky.  I was going for the look of a summer morning sunrise.

For my clock I used a Tim Holtz stamp from the Curiosities collection.  He has the coolest stamps ever!  I did the same technique for this except I used Vintage Photo distress ink to emboss with.  I couldn't find a quote I liked to go with this so I just made my own and then used the banner dye from Lil' Inker Designs by running it half way through my Cuttlebug then positioning it on the other end to make a full banner instead of the half banner it is originally intended for.

Supplies; Tim Holtz distress inks-Shabby Shutters, Spun Sugar Vintage Photo, Tumbled Glass, Dress It Up-button, CTMH-tiny brads, MTME-digi paper (Fresh cut Expressions 2), PTI-White, Yellow, Pink cardstock, Stampers Anonymous-Tim Holtz Collection (Curiosities CMS104), Stampin' Up- Tree image

Pretty Patterns 07

Good Morning!
It feels like summer came over night here!  The temperature last night was in the high  70's.  Around here you just don't know how to dress this time of year!  I went to work yesterday with my Smart wool socks and a long sleeved shirt and pants, when I came home at supper time I was in shorts and a tank sweating!  LOL!!!  NOT that I'm complaining about the heat!  Bring it on!!!

For this weeks card I used my favorite stamp set Bold Botanicals and a sentiment from Keep Strong. I like doing black and white cards with limited color just because I like the way they look!  I hope you like it and find the time to play along with MTME's Pretty Patterns sketch challenge this week!

One more day til' the Easter weekend is upon us!  Yippee!  I can hardly wait to go to camp for the weekend.  It's school vacation here and I've been swamped at work! Which isn't a bad thing but it sure cuts into my crafting time! LOL!!!
Onto my card...check out this weeks sketch over at MTME Pretty Patterns sketch challenge and come play along with us this week!  I used the digi version of this house from the Sign It stamp set for this card!   I'm really getting the hang of  separating and resizing the images!  It's awesome to be able to make the stamps any size I need!

Pretty Patterns 05/ Sneak Peek

Good Morning!
I think spring has finally arrived here in my neck of the woods!  I'm just itching to get out and start raking and planting my flowers!  LOL!!!
Today I'm sharing a little sneak peek of one of the new digi images that will be available tomorrow for purchase at the My Time Made Easy store!  I just had to use this little guy from the SK8R Boy Digital Set for this weeks Pretty Patterns sketch challenge.
The reason being this is what my youngest son enjoys doing every waking moment of his free time!!!  I think this set is going to work well for a scrapping page I want to do also.  I will share that as soon as I get it done!!!  I promise!!!  I hope you all get a chance to play along with us this week!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Supplies; Tim Holtz-distress inks, prima flower, PTI-stamp sets (Damask Designs), PTI-cardstock, Cuttlebug embossing folder.

Pretty Patterns 04

Good Morning!
Here we are with week four of MTME's Pretty Patterns challenge already.  That means this Thursday we will announce our very  first winner of  a pretty package of  their choice!
This week for my card I thought I would use the digi papers from Cool Romance. I love these papers because they have a vintage look to them.  These adorable little post cards come in this set too!  I printed them out as a 4x6 sheet  instead of a full 8.5x11 sheet.  The background paper I printed out as a 5x8 sheet which works perfect for a card because the pattern is not to large.  I added Happy Birthday to one of the post cards from the So Sentimental stamp set.

Supplies: PTI-cream cardstock,Kaiser-lace,Spellbinders Nestabilities-labels fourteen, MTME-So Sentimental-sentiment, Cool Romance-digi papers,Idea-ology-film strip ribbon, brads-misc., Prima-flower.

Here comes the Easter Bunny!!!

Hello Girls!
This week over at Just Us Girls we have a sketch challenge for you to play along with.  I knew the kind of card I wanted to create when I came up with this sketch so I searched high and low for an Easter Bunny that I could pop out of the half circle like so. To darn cute!!!
I have a sewing machine but opted to hand stitch around the edges so I wouldn't mess it up! LOL!!!
I worked on this card all week, little by little adding this and that to it!  It's a good thing we have deadlines cuz who knows how busy looking this card would have been!

Supplies; Digital Delights-Barnaby Bunny Topper, Waltzingmouse-Spring baskets, Martha Stewart-tulip punch, pop-up dots, PTI-white cardstock, Design papers-misc.

April Showers Bring On A Calendar...

Good Morning!
Do April showers really bring May flowers?  Not in my neck of the woods for sure we are getting more snow!  Let me just say enough already!  LOL!!!

Last month I just happened upon  Monique's blog post of a calendar she had made.  Let's just say my jaw hit the floor when I saw what she had created and I wanted to make one of them also!  So here I am today with my April calendar.  When I go to bed is when I come up with my best ideas.  Getting them out of my head and onto paper isn't always easy but this is one time that it actually worked out perfectly!  I wanted to make my calendar have a spiral binding like a "real" calendar.  My Dad has everything under the sun so of course he had some thin wire.  What I did was wind it around a metal rod the size I wanted my spiral to be.  I pierced the top of my paper like so and then twisted my spiral through the holes.  It went together very very easily!  Thank Goodness!

This is a close up.

I made my calendar on Microsoft Word.  Well actually my son did it for me for a price ($5.00)

Supplies: Design Papers-The Paper Loft, Copic Markers, All That Scraps- Digi Image, Ribbon-misc.

Now head on over to these lovely ladies blogs to see their calendars
