Just Us Girls has an all new challenge being hosted by the very talented Andrea this week. She is challenging us to use the Emboss Resist technique. This is one technique that I absolutely love
using this technique and you can find a tutorial here from Splitcoast Stampers.
There are just all sorts of looks you can achieve with this technique by using different distress inks which blend together so perfectly! On my card I started off by embossing my tree with Shabby Shutters distress ink from Tim Holtz with a clear embossing powder. I then used my distress mat and tool to shade the bottom half with Shabby Shutters then moved on to Spun Sugar ending with Tumbled Glass for the sky. I was going for the look of a summer morning sunrise.
For my clock I used a Tim Holtz stamp from the Curiosities collection. He has the coolest stamps ever! I did the same technique for this except I used Vintage Photo distress ink to emboss with. I couldn't find a quote I liked to go with this so I just made my own and then used the banner dye from Lil' Inker Designs by running it half way through my Cuttlebug then positioning it on the other end to make a full banner instead of the half banner it is originally intended for.
Supplies; Tim Holtz distress inks-Shabby Shutters, Spun Sugar Vintage Photo, Tumbled Glass, Dress It Up-button, CTMH-tiny brads, MTME-digi paper (Fresh cut Expressions 2), PTI-White, Yellow, Pink cardstock, Stampers Anonymous-Tim Holtz Collection (Curiosities CMS104), Stampin' Up- Tree image
