30 looks good on you!

Hello!
Aaah... it feels good to get a chance to play along with the play date cafe this week!  This is one of my favorite places to hang out  and this is my favorite challenge the 'colour splash'!  For my card I used three of the new birthday sets from PTI-Make A Wish, Inside & Out Birthday and Big Birthday Wishes to make the inside and outside of my card.  I like that I can mix the different sentiments and fonts up for a little different look for my cards!  Instead of buying the number dies that PTI had to go along with the Big Birthday Wishes I used my Cricut to cut my letters out (the 1 1/2" works great).  That's it for now gotta bring my son to basketball practice!  Have a good one and thanks for stopping by!

Color Dare #94

Hello!
I've been wanting to use this stamp set from PTI and finally got a chance to use it with The Color Dare challenge this week.  The colors are pink, purple and green this week. I kept it pretty simple because the three tiered cake is so large.  I put my Birthday sentiment inside the card.  I tried adding ribbon but it just wasn't working so this is it folks!  Have a good one!

CPS-Card Sketches #203

Hello!
This is a fun sketch over at CPS this week and worked well with this new Bo-Bunny paper I picked up yesterday.  I did no stamping at all I just cut the bird cage out and adhered it with pop-ups and cut the hearts out of the design paper.  I sprayed it with Perfect Pearls mist for a little shimmer and thats it!   An easy peasy card for sure!

JUGS #69 Technique challenge

Good Morning Ladies!
It's that time of the month (no not THAT time of the month!) for our wild card challenge at Just Us GirlsMaria is this weeks host and she is challenging us to make a flower or two inspired by Tim Holtz.  I chose Tim Holtz's Alterations-Tattered Florals to make my flowers.  I used the two smaller flowers.  I cut them out of coffee filters (cone style) and  then sprayed them with Tattered Angels glimmer mists in sunflower and starfish.  I then dried them with my dryer tool.  I cut a hole in the center of one of the larger of the two flowers and then took four more of the larger ones and folded them in half then into quarters (crinkling them up just a little).  I added glossy accents around the hole of the one I used as my base and added the four folded ones around into the center where the hole WAS.  I then scrunched them together a little then took one of the smaller ones and did the same fold scrunching also and placed it into the center of my flower.  To make my leaves I used the leaf die from PTI and cut them also from coffee filters and sprayed them with glimmer mist in olive vine.

Below is a close up my flowers.

Card Patterns Sketch 98

Hello,
I liked this weeks sketch over at the Card Patterns weekly sketch blog and seeing I needed a few Birthday cards for some of the men in my family I thought I'd use this sketch.  My "flower" is made from twine which is as close to a guy flower as I like to get!!!  LOL!!!  I used a background stamp to create my own background and my sentiment is from PTI's Birthday Bash sentiments.  Thanks for stopping by.  Have a good one!

JUGS #67 Color challenge

Good Morning Ladies!

Today we have a wonderful color challenge at Just Us Girls being hosted by Kristin.  The colors this week are based on the new Graphic 45 colllection- Once Upon a Springtime!  I was tickled with this color combo considering I had just picked up these new papers at my local scrap booking store (Generations of Memories) on Saturday!  There is nothing like new products to get those creative juices flowing!  I actually made a couple of cards but thought this one was too cute to not share!

I'm on a creative roll lately it feels good to be creating again.  My supply of sympathy cards is depleted so I've been making some lately and this weeks color challenge at CR84FN was just what I needed for inspiration!  I embossed the leaves by first inking the leaves with Tim Holtz's shabby shutters distress ink and then sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and colored in the leaves with my Copic marker (YG93) then embossed the flowers in white and colored them in with my Copic (V06) and sponged with Mustard Seed and Tumbled Glass.  My sentiment and image are from PTI's With Sympathy stamp set.  A very quick card!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a good one!

Wishing You Comfort

JUGS #66 Envy of the Envies

Hello!
This week is a technique week and this is such a fun week because we are being sponsored by gina k. Designs.

If you aren't familiar with her stamps and products go and take a look!  We got to pick a stamp set to work with and I chose Tickle your funny bone!  I just love the humor of this set!  We're all getting older and unfortunately can't do much about it so we might as well laugh at it!  After all laughter is the best medicine and I really believe that.

On to this weeks challenge.  Pam has challenged JUGS to make a card and then decorate and line our envelope to match.  I've had the die from PTI to line my envelopes with since it came out and this is the first time I've used it!  It was so so simple and not even that much extra work that I think from now on it's going to be something I do for each and every card I make.  It just adds that extra special touch!
I made several cards with this set but these are the two I'm going to show for today!

CR84FN Color challenge

Hello!
I've been wanting to play along with Mona's CR84FN challenge since it began but have never had the time until now.  My life just got crazy for awhile!  So anyway here's my card for this weeks challenge.  I based it on an old Taylored Expressions sketch from a year ago by mistake.   I thought it was this year and it was 2010 oh well, it still works!  I used my new PTI-Make A Wish stamp set for my card.  Have a good one and thanks for popping by!

JUGS Sketch Challenge

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and a little creative break!  I know I did!  Just being able to catch up on my card making and get a jump start on a few projects (will see how long that lasts)... is a good deed done.

O.K. ladies, are you ready now to get those creative juices flowing again!  I hope so because we at Just Us Girls have a fun sketch for you to kick the new year off with!  I was so  inspired by Tim Holtz's twelve days of Christmas and I seem to have gotten stuck on using his distressing inks.  I have many of them and haven't really played much with them lately.  If you're like me and have everything there is to craft with but then forget you have it or tuck stuff away never to be seen again until you see someone else using them like Tim Holtz!  Anyway I've been using the distress inks to shade my images to kinda match my design papers.  I just love the look I get with this technique and I do like how this card turned out.  I made some really cool Christmas cards by embossing Christmas images in white and then shading them with the distress inks. Really quick and easy technique!
